Official Rules for Professor DW’s Postseason Tournament Football Challenge

Eligibility

  1. This contest is 100% free of charge and you must be at least 18 years of age to participate.
  2. Employees and active contractors of Eli Sports Network are not eligible to win. They may participate and we will note those ineligible to win.
  3. Contestants are allowed 1 entry per person.

Entries and scoring points

Select the teams you believe will win the game with no point spread, just need to pick the winning team.

Questions: Some of the questions will be easy and maybe 50/50 such as the coin flip will be heads or tails. Or how many penalties will be called in the game 12.5, over or under. We added the .5 so there is no tie.

Other questions may have more than 1 correct answer so be sure to read each question and make your best prediction. Each correct answer will get a point. For example, which team kicked the longest field goal and if more than one team kicked a 55-yard field goal then picking any of those teams will earn you the point.

Other questions may be limited to the choices listed. For example, which QB will throw for the most yards? We may list only 4 names which means the competition is between just those 4 so if an unlisted QB throws for more yards than any of the 4 listed, that does not count and the winning point is awarded to only the names we list.

Tie-Breakers

There is the usual tie-breaker of predicting the total amount of points scored in all 13 postseason games. You must fill that out with your 1st entry. The Price is Right rule is in effect which is you cannot go over. The closest without going over will be declared the winner. This means if you guess 500 and the total is 499 you’re over and if the person you were tied with guessed 1 they would win because they didn’t go over.

In the unlikely event there is still a potential for a tie, the contestant selecting the winning team will be declared the winner. If there is still a potential tie each affected contestant will then receive a secondary tie-breaking question. The only chance of this happening is for contestants to first guess the same amount of total points scored in all 13 games and then each selecting the same team to win. But we will keep offering tie-breaker questions until there are different answers and no chance of a final tie.

The questions have been determined for each week with a caveat that all questions prior to the week may be tweaked if for instance there is an injury and a player is no longer available and the question was which QB would throw the most TD’s in a week and that QB was injured and not playing.

Players may enter any or all of the weeks. For weeks they do not enter they get 0 points. If you miss the 1st week you will not be able to enter a tie-breaker number. So if you end up in a tie for any of the prizes you will automatically lose the tie-breaker to the player who entered a tie-breaker regardless of if their guess is over or not.
