The Seattle Kraken fired first year Head Coach Dan Byslma according to Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman.

Bylsma and the Kraken finished the season with a 35-41-6 record and 76 points. Seattle finished 20 points out of a playoff spot.

Seattle will have look for a new head coach for a second time in two seasons.

Bylsma concludes his third NHL head coaching stint which includes stops in Pittsburgh and Buffalo. Byslma had previously spent two seasons with the Kraken AHL affiliate Coachella Valley Firebirds taking them to them to Calder Cup both seasons.

Additional reports say Seattle will elevate assistant general manager Jason Botterill to the general manager while current GM Ron Francis will move to an upper management role.
