HS Basketball: Rainier Beach Bids Farewell to Crawford Court With Senior Night Win

Jamal Crawford Court has seen a slew of basketball talent from the Pacific Northwest. On the last regular season night from Crawford Court, Rainier Beach orchestrated an inspired 90-62 win on senior night. Jaylen Petty marked his signature on senior night with a dazzling 31 point effort.

Eastside Catholic last season, won their first State Championship in program history with a win against Rainier Beach. Yabi Aklog scored 28 points and acquired nine rebounds in the win. Rainier Beach exacted revenge in the middle of January with a 99-72 in Sammamish. Saturday night would add to another installment of the two rivals.

Rainier Beach got the party started early and often. Kaden Powers and Jaylen Petty knocked several three-pointers to set the tone for Beach. Keaundre Morris additionally chipped in on the offensive end for the home side. Nyale Robinson served more of a facilitator role, but put through timely three-pointers when called upon.

Eastside Catholic saw serviceable play from Yabi Aklog, scoring an Eastside Catholic high 18 points. Achilles Reyna added 12 points off the bench for EC.

Rainier Beach put the game out of reach in the 2nd quarter to cruise to a 90-62 win.

Near the end of the game, Rainier Beach senior Ray Proctor Mills Jr. with a cast on his hand sank a pair of free throws.

Eastside Catholic awaits to see who they will play in the first round of the Metro League tournament. Rainier Beach finishes the regular season on the road against Roosevelt, Tuesday night. Beach will host the winner between Eastside Catholic and the Metro Mountain fourth place team against Eastside Catholic on Wednesday the 12th.
