Lincoln (Tacoma) Abes   10/12/10/18/12 – 62
Silas Rams                             8/12/14/16/11 – 61

(Tacoma, WA) The first time Lincoln and Silas played each other, it was a two-point win for Lincoln on their home floor. On Wednesday, the sequel brought a drama-filled game with an incredible ending. Lincoln and Bellarmine Prep are neck and neck in the PSL-Narrows for the top spot, as Bellarmine Prep won the second matchup of the year on a buzzer-beating three, while Silas is locked in at the third spot out of the division. It had the makings of a great battle again, and it lived up to the hype.

In the first quarter, defenses reigned supreme as neither side could find their rhythm offensively. Silas got a late three from Hezekiah Wyatt to pull the Rams within two points but Lincoln used balanced scoring to jump out to a 10-8 lead after one.

In the second quarter, the offenses found more of their flow, as Davion Shareef-Dulaney had eight points in the quarter for Lincoln to get him into double figures at 10 first-half points. Silas used balanced scoring, as no one had more than four points in the half, but had seven different Rams that scored. Both teams scored 12 points in the second as Lincoln led 22-20 at the half.

In the third quarter, MakHai Pleasant-Tolliver and Tyson Parker each led the Rams in the quarter. Pleasant-Tolliver had six points while Parker had five to give Silas a two-point lead after the third quarter. Davion Shareef-Dulaney continued his great play with five more points in the third. Both teams were racking up fouls, which forced both teams to go deeper into their bench.

In the fourth quarter, fouls really started coming into play, as multiple players on each team had four fouls and started to foul out in regulation. The final quarter of regulation was the highest scoring quarter, with each team scoring over 15 points. Justus Holt and Noah Dennis were fantastic for Lincoln in the post during the fourth, each scoring clutch baskets for the Abes. Silas had baskets from Zaire Winesberry who was excellent for the Rams, and MakHai Pleasant-Tolliver continued to play great for Silas, handling the ball a lot for the Rams. The teams traded baskets late in the quarter to tie the game at 50, which is where regulation finished as the teams geared up for overtime.

In overtime, Lincoln’s Uriah Wilson drained a pair of huge threes for the Abes, scoring his only two baskets of the night from three-point land and in clutch time. Silas was led by MakHai Pleasant-Tolliver who had four points in overtime, including a basket with under a minute to go to give Silas a 59-58 lead. Lincoln attempted to take the lead back but misfired on their shot, and fouled Silas with 26 seconds left. LaMarcus Hinton calmly hit both free throws to give Silas a 61-58 lead. Lincoln turned to their sensational freshman, Davion Shareef-Dulaney again, who rose for a right-wing three, hit the three, and was fouled with eight seconds left. Shareef-Dulaney sunk the free throw to give Lincoln a 62-61 lead. Silas had an opportunity for the win, but their shot bounced out and Lincoln would take the dramatic classic 62-61 in overtime.

Lincoln improves to 16-3 on the season and 14-1 in PSL play, staying tied with Bellarmine Prep in the top spot in the PSL-Narrows. Lincoln plays Central Kitsap on the road on Friday before the PSL tournament next week.

Silas drops to 12-8 on the season and 10-5 in the PSL. Silas will be the third seed in the PSL tournament next week, and will look to bounce back against Bellarmine Prep on Friday before they start the league tournament.

Our Thorbeckes Game MVP went to Lincoln’s Davion Shareef-Dulaney, who led everybody with 23 points, went 8-8 from the free throw line, and had the game-winning four-point play to give Lincoln the one-point win.

Lincoln was also led by Noah Dennis and Justus Holt, who each had nine points, Trey Collier had seven points, Uriah Wilson had all six points in overtime, O Shea Lamer had four points, Kasey Williams had three points, Amare Breedlove finished with one point.
