CHICAGO — Ilya Mikheyev continued his hot streak, scoring twice to lead the Chicago Blackhawks to a 3-1 win over the Seattle Kraken at the United Center on Thursday. The victory marked Chicago’s third consecutive win.

The Kraken were coming off a demoralizing shutout loss to the Ottawa Senators on Tuesday, while the Blackhawks came in with the worst record in the league.

Goaltender Arvid Soderblom made 27 saves for the Blackhawks (12-19-2), while Nolan Allan celebrated his first NHL goal, and Teuvo Teravainen contributed two assists.

For the Kraken (15-17-2), Ryker Evans scored their lone goal, and Joey Daccord recorded 21 saves in the loss. Newly acquired Kaapo Kakko, traded from the New York Rangers on Wednesday, made his Seattle debut, registering two shots on goal.

Mikheyev opened the scoring at 10:54 of the second period, extending his goal streak to three games. A shot from Teravainen deflected off Mikheyev’s knee in front of the net, giving Chicago a 1-0 lead.

He struck again at 6:06 of the third period, firing a wrist shot from the high slot off another assist from Teravainen to make it 2-0. Mikheyev has now tallied four goals over his past three games.

Seattle cut the deficit to 2-1 at 11:26 when Evans scored from the bottom of the left circle, finishing a precise cross-ice pass from Oliver Bjorkstrand.

Chicago sealed the win at 15:11 when Hawks Rookie Defenseman Nolan Allan, took a cross-ice feed from former Kraken forward Ryan Donato and scored with a snap shot from the left circle, securing the 3-1 final.

The Blackhawks will look to build on their momentum, while the Kraken aim to halt their losing skid in their next outing.

Next up: The Kraken take on the Pacific Division leading Vegas Golden Knights (21-8-3) in Vegas on Saturday with puck drop scheduled a little after 7pm Pacific time.
