ANAHEIM — Shane Wright made his presence felt with a goal and an assist and Andre Burakovsky scored his first of the year as the Seattle Kraken edged the Anaheim Ducks 3-2 at Honda Center on Monday.

Wright, Seattle’s No. 4 pick in the 2022 NHL Draft, returned to the lineup after being a healthy scratch for three straight games and wasted no time making an impact.

“Just realized I have a little more time with the puck than I think I do,” Wright said about what he learned while sitting out. “Holding onto those pucks a little more instead of rushing plays has made a difference.”

Andre Burakovsky and Brandon Montour also scored for the Kraken (11-10-1), with Ryker Evans contributing two assists. Goalie Joey Daccord made 21 saves as Seattle snapped a five-game road losing streak and improved to 6-2-0 in their past eight games.

For the Ducks (8-9-3), Trevor Zegras and Frank Vatrano found the back of the net, with Troy Terry assisting on both goals. Lukas Dostal stopped 25 shots in a hard-fought loss.

Seattle turned the tide in the third period, scoring twice in the first 70 seconds to erase a 2-1 deficit.

Burakovsky tied the game at 2-2 just 46 seconds into the final frame. A pass from Jared McCann ricocheted off Burakovsky and Ducks goalie Dostal before crossing the goal line.

Moments later, Montour unleashed a blistering slap shot from the right point off a face-off to give the Kraken a 3-2 lead at 1:10.

Wright opened the scoring at 7:12 of the first period, deflecting the puck past Dostal while battling Ducks defenseman Olen Zellweger in front of the net. Anaheim responded with Zegras scoring shortside on a rush during a delayed penalty at 15:59 to make it 1-1.

Vatrano gave the Ducks a 2-1 lead in the second period, sweeping in a rebound after Zellweger’s wrist shot  was initially saved.

Despite trailing after two periods, the Kraken stayed confident, and for the first time this season won a game after trailing after two periods of play.

NOTES: Ducks forward Leo Carlsson exited the game with an upper-body injury late in the second period after a collision with Tye Kartye sent him into the left post. Cronin did not provide an update postgame.

Up Next: Watch out for the Ducks coming after Kartye as the Kraken and the Ducks come to Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, Wednesday for back to back meetings.
