(Puyallup, WA) The WIAA State girls and boys state Final 4’s will be contested at Federal Way’s Memorial Stadium begining on Friday. The boys will get things started with the early games. The seeding committee hit all 4 correctly with a 1-4 in the top 4. 3rd seeded Upper Columbia Academy is going after their 3rd straight Championship and faces Lopez Island who fellow San Juan island schools Orcas Island and Friday Harbor with a Championship.
Orcas Island is the #1 seed and looking for the same magic they found in 2021 when they took the top placing. They will battle 4 seed Providence Classical Christian in the semifinals. P-C-C has a big trophy from winning the tournament in 2010 and are seeking a return to the top spot.
Crosspoint Christian rolls into the final 4 seeking their 4th State Title and 2nd in a row as they are the defending Champs. The bracket held tight except for 6 seeded Mt Vernon Christian getting the 1-0 win over 3 seed Cle Elum-Roslyn. The Hurricanes will take on the defending champs in their opener on Friday.
Meantime, NW Christian (Colbert) and Freeman will showdown in the other bracket with 2 vs 3 seed. However, Freeman is dropping down to the 2B level after being a longtime 1A school.
