Tumwater Thunderbirds 52, W.F. West 0

(Chehalis, WA) The Tumwater Thunderbirds are poised for another deep postseason run as they came into Friday night’s game undefeated. W.F. West is also undefeated and looking to make a deep postseason run. The 2A EVCO foes took to the field to see who would remain undefeated.

Tumwater scored on their first possession of the game, with Sunny Nguyen running it in from 28 yards out to get the touchdown for Tumwater and make it 7-0 in the first quarter. Cash Short would get a 44-yard touchdown run to give Tumwater a 14-0 first-quarter lead

In the second quarter, Jaylin Nixon took a handoff and scampered 51 yards for the touchdown to make it 21-0 Tumwater in the lead. Later in the quarter, Nixon scored again, this time going 88 yards as he weaved through traffic, then won the foot race to the end zone to make it a 28-0 Tumwater lead at the half.

In the third quarter, Jaylin Nixon would punch it in from a yard out to give Tumwater a 35-0 lead. Dylan Stevens added a 25-yard field goal for the T-Birds to give Tumwater a 38-0 lead in the third quarter. In the fourth quarter, Tumwater went through the air as Jaxon Budd connected with Jake Dillon for a 22-yard touchdown to give Tumwater a 45-0 lead. Parker Berry added a late TD with a 35-yard TD run to give Tumwater a 52-0 lead. Tumwater would win the game 52-0 over W.F. West.

Our Thorbeckes Game MVP went to Jaylin Nixon, as his three touchdowns, including two of them over 50 yards, were the difference in the ballgame.

Tumwater improves to 8-0 and will host Centralia next week in their regular-season finale. W.F. West is now 7-1 on the year and will take on Black Hills at home next week.
