(Puyallup, WA) The Puyallup Vikings are coming off back-to-back top five finishes in state. This year’s edition of Puyallup began slowly with two straight losses in league play including a tough five set loss to Curtis. Against a Graham Kapowsin team two years removed from a state title, the Vikings cruised to a four-set victory Tuesday night.

The Vikings cruised in set one, in large part due to Ameilia Guardipee who was on the receiving end of multiple kills to lead Puyallup to a 25-14 first set.

The second set saw Graham Kapowsin allow Karlie Dickerson shine, with the visiting Eagles setting up Dickerson to power their offense. Graham Kapowsin claimed the second set 25-23.

The third set was an exhibit of Puyallup’s blockers. Sienna Hanson and Ameilia Guardipee thanks to Reese Sheppard establishing the offense for Puyallup, cruised to a third set win of 25-11.

The fourth set saw Puyallup jump out to an early lead, Graham Kapowsin staged a rally to cut a seven-point deficit down to one, but Puyallup capitalized off errors from GK to come away to a 25-16 fourth set win.

For her offensive contributions, Amelia Guardipee was named our Elisportsnetwork.com MVP of the match.
