(Kent, WA There are some nights that will forever live in the memories of everyone’s mind long after a game’s final whistle. Thursday night was one of those nights.
Kentwood running back Antoine Lee racked up 231 yards (189 rushing, 42 receiving) and five touchdowns (three rushing, two receiving) to lead the Conquerors to their first win of the season. Although Lee found the end zone five times, his fourth, a 65-yard run proved to be the highlight of the night to put the Conks in front for good late in the third quarter.
Kentwood’s offense saw quarterback Brandon Tagle complete sixteen of twenty-four of his passes for 190 yards and two touchdowns. His leading receiver was Zack McGuire with 72 yards. Kentwood narrowly outgained Auburn Riverside 395-385.
Auburn Riverside quarterback Andrew Wold threw for 293 yards and a touchdown to Payton Eklund. Wold also ran for 80 yards on the ground including a touchdown midway through the fourth quarter. Mika Petaia also scored a touchdown for Auburn Riverside early in the second quarter.
Our Cole Health MVP of the Game was Antoine Lee with 24 carries 189 yards three touchdowns rushing to go along with 5 catches for 42 yards two touchdowns receiving.
