Sumner 2 North Creek 0 (Sumner, WA)

The Sumner Spartans hosted the North Creek Vikings Saturday morning in a non-league match for their home opener. North Creek came into the match with a record of (2-0-1) while Sumner held a record of (0-1-0). The Spartans are coming off a season that saw them win the SPSL Championship and an appearance in the State tournament.

After 15 scoreless minutes Sumner struck first with the goal from Caylee Brown on a cross from Morgan Sandmire to put the Spartans up 1-0.

Late in the half Brown was at it again, her second goal of the match at the 37th minute put Sumner up 2-0 going into the half.

Sumner shared goalie duties each half with Devon Bankers starting the first half and Kennedy Jackson the second with the tandem recording the combined shutout.

Our Cole Health MVP of the Match was Caylee Brown with the two goals.
