Thursday (9/12): 

(Girls Soccer) – River Ridge (2-0) vs Centralia (0-1), 6:45 PM Pregame, 7 PM Kickoff.

River Ridge has started off the year with a 3-0 win over Evergreen, then a 4-1 win over Black Hills on Tuesday. River Ridge was 1-10-5 last season. Centralia had a 4-0 loss to R.A. Long on Tuesday. The Tigers defeated River Ridge last year, 1-0, on their way to a 9-8 season, where they lost to Woodland 1-0 in the pigtail match.

(Volleyball) – Peninsula (0-1) vs North Thurston (1-1), 7 PM Pregame, 7:15 PM First Serve.

Peninsula comes into the match after a 3-0 loss to Timberline on Tuesday. The Seahawks were 15-10 last season and made it to State where they beat Meadowdale in the Opening Round, before losing to eventual State Champs Mead 3-0, then beat West Seattle 3-2 before losing to Liberty (Issaquah), 3-1.

North Thurston is 1-1 on the year after losing to Olympia 3-0 on Monday, then won 3-0 over Capital on Tuesday. North Thurston was 22-2 last season and was the 1-seed in the State Tournament. The Rams won 3-1 over Bellevue in the Opening Round, then won 3-1 over Prairie 3-1 before losing to Lake Washington 3-0 in the semifinals and taking fourth place after being defeated by Lynnwood, 3-0.

(Volleyball) – Lakes (1-0) vs Timberline (1-0), 7 PM Pregame, 7:15 PM First Serve.

Lakes started the season with a 3-0 win over River Ridge on Tuesday. Lakes was 13-5 last season and in the District tournament lost to Kelso and Capital 3-0.

Timberline won over Peninsula 3-0 in their only match on Tuesday. The Blazers were 7-9 last season.

(Football) – Bethel (0-1) vs Emerald Ridge (1-0), 6:45 PM Pregame, 7 PM Kickoff.

Bethel started the season with a 35-7 loss to the 3A defending State Champs. Last season the Bison were 4-6 and in the Week 10 District Crossover Round lost to Skyview 49-21.

Emerald Ridge started the season with a 24-6 win over Kentwood. Our coverage of that game can be found here. Last year, the Jaguars were 8-3 and were the 11-seed in the State playoffs where they lost a close one in the Opening Round to Kamiakin 36-35.

 

Friday (9/13):

(Football) – Eastlake (0-1) vs Mount Tahoma (0-1), 6:45 PM Pregame, 7 PM Kickoff.

Eastlake started the season by taking on Eastside Catholic but lost 40-14. Last season, Eastlake was 11-2 and was the 4-seed in the State Playoffs. The Wolves won 21-18 over Sumner in the Opening Round, won in the Quarterfinals 17-14 over Skyview, then lost in the semis 27-24 to Graham Kapowsin.

Mount Tahoma took on Yelm last week in their season opener and lost 42-34 in a very competitive battle. Last season, the T-Birds were 8-4 on the year and Mount Tahoma was the 9-seed and won their Opening Round game 21-7 against Ferndale before losing to Yelm 29-12 in the Quarterfinals.

(Football) – Bonney Lake (0-1) vs Lakes (1-0), 6:45 PM Pregame, 7 PM Kickoff.

Lakes started the season with a 21-13 road win over Auburn Riverside. The Lancers were 5-5 last season after starting 4-1.

Bonney Lake started the season with a 34-16 loss to Eastmont. Last year the Panthers were 7-4 and lost to Monroe 41-24 to end their season.

(Football) – Evergreen (1-0) vs Puyallup (0-1), 6:45 PM Pregame, 7 PM Kickoff.

Evergreen had an 18-0 victory over Union at home last week. The Plainsmen were 5-4 last season and missed out on the State Playoffs.

Puyallup lost to Tumwater last week 56-6 in their opening game. Puyallup was 5-5 last season and lost to Skyline 25-22 that ended their season.

(Football) – Yelm (1-0) vs Lincoln (Tacoma) (1-0), 6:45 PM Pregame, 7 PM Kickoff.

Yelm started their season with a 42-34 win at home over Mount Tahoma. Last year, Yelm made it back to the State Championship game but lost to Bellevue 14-0. This is Yelm’s first season in 4A after being in 3A.

(Football) – Bainbridge (1-0) vs Tumwater (1-0), 6:45 PM Pregame, 7 PM Kickoff.

Bainbridge won on the road last week over West Seattle, 23-7 in their season opener. Last year the Spartans were 7-3 and started the year 4-0.

Tumwater started the year off with a 56-6 win over Puyallup at home last week. Tumwater was 13-1 and made it all the way to the 2A State Championship where they lost to Anacortes 60-30.

Saturday (9/14):

(Girls Soccer) – Lewis & Clark (1-0) vs Olympia (1-0), 10:45 AM Pregame, 11 AM Kickoff.

Olympia started the season with a 2-0 win over Capital and takes on Stadium on Thursday. The Bears went 10-5-3 last year and was the 10-seed in the district tournament. They won their first match 3-1 over Union before losing to Rogers (Puyallup) 3-0.

Lewis & Clark started the season with a 6-0 win over Southridge before losing 3-0 over Chiawana on Wednesday. The Tigers take on Mount Rainier on Friday before their match against Olympia. Last year, Lewis & Clark went 8-8-3 and in the District tournament, defeated Kamiakin 3-2, before losing to Chiawana 4-0, beating Hanford 6-0, then losing to Richland 3-2.

(Girls Soccer) – North Creek (1-0-1) vs Sumner (0-1), 10:45 AM Pregame, 11 AM Kickoff.

Sumner started the season with a 2-0 loss to Tahoma on Tuesday. Last year, the Spartans were 18-2-1 and won the District Tournament. Sumner was the 2-seed in the State Tournament and won 1-0 over Kamiak in the opening round before losing 2-1 to Woodinville.

North Creek started the year with a 1-1 tie against Kamiak before winning 1-0 over Cedarcrest. North Creek will play Sammamish on Thursday before their match against Sumner. The Jaguars were 8-5-1 last season and lost to Jackson 1-0 in the District tournament.

(Girls Soccer) – Skyview (1-0-1) vs Tumwater (1-1), 1:45 PM, 2 PM Kickoff.

Skyview started off the year with an 8-0 win over Mountain View before tying against Ridgefield, 2-2. The Storm takes on Hockinson on Thursday before their match against Tumwater. Skyview was 9-7-1 last year and was the 9-seed in the District tournament. The Storm won 5-2 over Emerald Ridge and 2-1 over Kentwood before losing 2-0 to Camas and 2-1 to Rogers (Puyallup).

Tumwater began the season with a 4-1 win over Selah before losing 4-2 to Seattle Academy. The T-Birds play Union on Thursday before their home opener on Saturday. Last year, Tumwater went 16-2-1 and lost to Hockinson in the District tournament 1-0, then won 4-1 over Aberdeen, but lost to Columbia River 5-1.

(Football) – King’s (0-1) vs Cascade Christian (0-1), 6:45 PM Pregame, 7 PM Kickoff.

King’s started the year with a 34-14 loss to Orting last week. King’s was 9-0 last year before losing to Seton Catholic 56-48 in the State Playoffs. King’s were the 5-seed last year.

Cascade Christian started off the year with a close game against Eatonville but lost 34-28. The Cougars were 8-3 last season and were the 11-seed in the State Playoffs. They lost to Nooksack Valley 59-7 in the Opening Round.
