(Centralia, WA) The public celebration of life for legendary Basketball Coach Ron Brown will be held on Saturday, July 27 in the Centralia High School Gym on Ron Brown court or otherwise known as “Ron’s House”. Coach Brown was 90 years old when he passed on July 5th.
Coach Brown was the all-time 3rd winningest coach in state basketball history and coached more games than any other coach in state history, Coach Brown was a head coach for 56 years for just one school his beloved Centralia Tigers. He also taught for 34 years as a history teacher.
Coach Brown’s service will begin at 1pm on Saturday. The celebration of life ceremony will also be live streamed on You Tube available on this link: https://www.youtube.com/live/1WiVgfU2BOE
A large crowd is expected and additional streaming will be set up in the commons of Centralia High school in case of overflow. The family asks in lieu of flowers or gifts donations can be made in Coach Brown’s name to the Centralia Dollars for Scholars scholarship program or the local Centralia CAAFF Foundation that assists in funding infrastructure for Centralia sports programs.
