Washington Golf held the 15th Washington Men’s Mid-Amateur Championship this week at the Desert Canyon Golf Resort in Orondo. This was a 54-hole championship, with the top 60 making the cut after 36 holes.
This year’s champion was Jacob Rohde from Everett, who tied the low round of this year’s championship with a final round, 5-under 67 to win by two strokes. Rohde finished with an even par, 216. Rohde started the championship with a 2-under 70, then in the second round shot 7-over 79, before today’s clutch performance. His 67 today was the best round of the day by six strokes. This is the first state championship title for Rohde who has qualified for the U.S. Mid-Am Championship four times.
