Karlo Lopez was right behind with a big Stakes win and Silvio Amador roars up the rankings. Let’s get to this week’s Power Rankings!

2024 Power Rankings #11

#1 Kevin Krigger (Last week #6)

Kevin Krigger has been on fire all season winning at 30% or above from day 1. He did it again last week with his best week yet going 4-6-0-1 from 13 mounts. That’s a 31% win rate and a masssive 77% exacta and trifecta clip and 85% top 4 finish. The one thing he hasn’t had yet is a great run in a stakes race but how long can he be ignored? Krigger is red hot and easily our #1 in our weekly PR’s!

#2 Karlo Lopez (Last week #3)

Karlo Lopez had his best ride of the year when he brought 11-1 Artic Breeze through traffic and weaved his way through for a neck win in the Kent Stakes, his 2nd Stakes win of the year. Lopez finished the week 3-5-1-1 for a 15% win rate abd 50% top 4. He’s inching closer to the top of the rankings moving up 1 spot this week.

#3 Silvio Amador (Last week unranked)

Silvio Amador broke through last weekend after a few weeks of struggling and did so with a huge win in the Irish Day Stakes with Tougherthantherest. Amador rode 8 last week and finished 3-1-0-2 for a big 38% win rate and 75% top 4. Amador races up the rankings in a hurry after being unranked.

#4 Luis Reyes (Last week #9)

Luis Reyes had his 2nd best week of the season with a triple on Saturday and finishing the week 3-2-4-2 from 16 starts for a 19% win rate and 69% superfecta finish. Reyes is starting to match his win success with more on the board ploacings as well and moves up 5 spots to #4.

#5 Allyssa Morales (Last week unranked)

Allyssa Morales had just 7 mounts and took full advantage hitting the top 3 71% of the time with a 2-1-2 record. That’s a win percent of 29%. Morales no matter the odds you just feel you have a shot each time she rides. She goes from unranked up to our #5 position.

#6 Isaias Enriquez (Last week #8)

Talk about from one end to the other! Isaias Enriquez had 2 wins both for the same owner and trainer, Billy Speed racing and Frank Lucarelli. They were back to back wins but not on the same day. He won with Sporty Nugget at 40-1 by a length on Saturday in the 8th and final race then won the 1st race on Sunday with Hickory Wind by 15 lengths at odds of 1-1. A 25% win rate is gonna get you on the Power Rankings.

#7 Carlos Montalvo (Last week #5)

Carlos Montalvo is one of those guys who just grinds it out every week and every day and did so with another solid week going 2-1-2 from 9 rides. Both winners on outsiders as well at 6-1 and 16-1. Although drops a tad he had another great week with a 22% win rate.

#8 Alex Cruz (Last week #7)

Alex Cruz is hitting the board a lot pointing to his 78% superfecta finish this past week and still getting a pair of wins going 2-2-1-9 from 18 starts. Don’t be surprised when he heats up again it’s just a matter of time. Cruz drops 1 spot to #8 this week.

#9 Leslie Mawing (Last week #1)

Leslie Mawing takes a quick fall after being on top last week but Mawing still finds a way to win. Another veteran who grinds hard and makes you not forget him. He got 1 picture taken this week going 1-0-4-3 from 12 starts for an 8% win rate but 67% top 4.

#10 Juan Gutierez (Last week #2)

Juan Gutierrez also shot up the Power Rankings last week to #2 but drops all the way to #10 with a 1-0-2-0 record from 7 rides. If Guti had hit the board more he would have been higher but still never can be mad at winning with 14%. Good week, but we expect bigger weeks are still coming for Juan.
