Jordan Chiles is a gymnast whose hometown is Vancouver. She was born in Oregon and moved to Vancouver before moving to Texas in 2019 to train at the World Champions Centre. Chiles is only 23 but has a lot of experience being on U.S. National teams. She’s been on national teams for over a decade and competing internationally for 10 years as well. In the Olympic Trials for the previous Olympics, Chiles was the only U.S. team member to hit every routine that she competed in during the season leading up to the Olympics. She had 24 total routines and didn’t fall once. Chiles made the Olympic team for the 2020 Olympics where she was part of the team event that took home the silver medal. She also finished 13th in the floor exercise, 40th in the individual all-around, 52nd in the uneven bars, and 78th in the beam.
Chiles also has three medals at the world championships, where in 2022 she won gold in the team event and took home silver medals in the floor exercise and the vault. Chiles went to UCLA and in 2023 at the 2023 NCAA Gymnastics Regional Final, Chiles scored a perfect 10 in the floor routine. 12 days later she had another perfect 10, this time in the Uneven bars. She won the uneven bars and floor exercise national championships in 2023 and was an all-around silver medalist. Chiles left UCLA to focus on the Olympics where she’s made it to the Olympics for the second time. Chiles is named after Michael Jordan.
