(Auburn, WA) Our 9th Power Rankings of the season are out but a reminder there is no racing tonight due to the July 3rd race card on Wednesday. This Power Ranking does NOT include Wednesday’s races, those will be part of Edition #10 next Friday.

This week’s still has Alex Cruz on top his 4th straight week. But there was a lot of other movement including Allyssa Morales and Isaias Enriquez with huge weeks. Let’s get to this week’s PR’s!

2024 Power Rankings #9

#1 Alex Cruz (Last week #1, 4-weeks)

30% win rate, 60% in the trifecta and 75% superfecta hit will put you at the top of the Power Rankings 99% of the time and that’s exactly what Alex Cruz did going 6-4-2-3 from 20 rides and Cruz Cruz’ed to the top spot for his 4th consecutive week.

#2 Allyssa Morales (Last week #5)

Allyssa Morales has been on fire and went from unranked to #9 and now all the way up to #2. Morales had 9 rides and finished the week with a 2-2-1-1 record for a 22% win rate and 67% top 4 finish.

#3 Isaias Enriquez (Last week #8)

2 weeks ago Enriquez was shut out and did not make the top 10 but still did well on hitting the board just couldn’t find a win. Last week he got back to the winners circle and cracked the top 10 at 8 but this past week he jets up to #3 with just 5 mounts. He won twice and placed once for a 40% win clip and 60% exacta finish.

#4 Karlo Lopez (Last week #9)

Karlo Lopez bounced back off his worst week of the season with solid numbers including 3 wins from 20 rides a 15% win rate. But Lopez backed that up with a total record of 3-3-5-2 finishing with a 65% top 4 finish. Lopez still leading the pack in 2nd place fmnishes and continues to chip away turning many of those into wins. Strong move this week for Lopez.

#5 Kevin Krigger (Last week #2)

Krigger may have challenged Cruz for the top spot but had to sit out on Sunday taking chances away from him and when you’re winning at a 33% rate on the season he likely gave up at least 1 win. Krigger finished with a 2-1-1-2 record from 8 rides for a 25% win rate and 75% superfecta finish. Another strong week for Krigger.

#6 Luis Reyes (Last Week #3)

Luis Reyes has turned his year around big time and continues and refuses not to be considered for the PR’s. Reyes drops a few spots more because he is getting more rides and that impacted his percentages this week. Reyes was 2-0-2-4 from 13 rides for a 15% win rate and 31% trifecta rate. Reyes is close to busting open a huge week keep an eye on this guy.

#7 Carlos Montalvo (Last week #7)

Mr Consistancy drops a little this, although my “hunch” is he is going to zoom back up the PR’s in edition #10. For those who saw what he did on Wednesday, which is not being counted this week, knows why I have this hunch. Montalvo had 14 rides one of his busiest weeks of the year and went 2-2-1-3 for a 14% win rate and 53% top 4 rate.

#8 Kevin Orozco (Last week at #6)

Kevin Orozco continues to have a very solid year with the chances he’s getting. Orozco had just 6 rides but went 1-1-1-2 for a 17% win rate but a big 83% superfecta finish and Orozco drops a couple but another solid week.

#9 Javier Matias (Last week unranked)

Javier “The Rooster” Matias fell off the PR’s last week and quickly pushed his way back on with a 1-2-0-1 from just 6 rides last week with his win aboard that last to 1st run aboard Muncey, a terriffic ride by the veteran.

#10 Manuel Americano (Last week at #10)

Last week Manuel Americano made the top 10 with his 1st career win and this week you can’t get better than 100% win rate as Americano had 1 ride and won. He keeps riding like this and the apprentice is going to get more opportunities.
