The Spring sports season is barrelling toward May and the post-season. So we thought we take a look at where all the baseball league standings sit with about 3 weeks or left to play before the play-offs beginning with the League and District tournaments. We’ll re-cap the final 4 from each State Tournament and update where each of those teams are currently standings plus post all leagues current standings from across the State.
1A report is first, 2A update at bottom of the post.
The Klahowya Eagles were the 3 seed headed into last year’s State Baseball tournament and ran through all of their opponents capping it with a crushing 12-1 win over the #1 seeded naches Valley. The Eagles put of 32 runs over their 4 games and gave up just 5. Their closest contest was in the Semi’s with a 3-0 shutout win over Cedar Park Christian. CPC wouold go home with the 3rd place trophy with a 3-1 win over Montesaano.
There are no undefeated 1A teams left in the state so taking a look at last year’s final 4 we see the defending Champsw Klahowya right in the middle of the 7 team Nisqually league with a 4-3 league mark and 5-3 overall. Last year’s #1 seed and runns-up Naches Valley are 2-0 tied with Zillah in the South Central Athletic Conference but Naches Valley is 9-2 overall while Zillah is 5-6.
Cedar Park Christian are running away with the Emerald Sound League posting a 7-1 record in league play and 10-3 overall. The Eagles have a 3 game lead over King’s. And Montesano who just missed getting into the Title tilt last year losing in the Semi’s to Naches Valley 5-4 are sitting a game behind Tenino in the EVCO 1A. The Bulldogs are 7-1 and 12-2 overall while the Beavers are 5-0 in league and 11-1 for the year.
3 of the final 4 are in the current top 5 of the RPI with Naches Valley at #1, Montesano is #3 and Cedar Park Christian #4. Tenino is #2 and Deer Park at 3-2 in league and 8-3 overall round out the top 5. Last year’s Champs Klahowya are currently #14 in the RPI.

2A Baseball
The Tumwater T-Birds repeated as 2A Baseball Champs in 2023 and did so by scoring just 4 runs total in the semi-finals and finals combined winning both games 2-1. The T-birds first beat their league foes the WF West Bearcats in the semi’s and then knocked off fellow Green and Gold the Lynden Lions for the Championship. The Bearcats came out on day 2 with a strong effort to beat always tough Selah for the 3rd place trophy.
The 2A has no undefeated teams left at this point of the season and only 2 teams with 1 loss. Shadle Park is 4-0 in the Greater Spokane league and 8-1 overall while Enumclaw sits atop the SPSL 2A at 8-0 and 10-1 overall.
Meantime, Tumwater and WF West are going at it again in the EVCO 2A with the T-Birds at 8-0 in league play and 10-3 for the season. The Bearcats are 6-0 in league and 11-2 for the season.
Lyunden currently is tied with Anacortes at 7-1 and tied for 2nd in the 3A/2A/1A Northwest Conference. The Lions are 11-2 overall. Last year’s #1 seed Selah is always in the running and they are on top of the CWAC once again with a 7-1 league record and 11-2 overall. Just infront of the Huskies of Othello who are 5-1 and 11-2.
The top RPI team is Othello just edging out Selah where the Vikings sit at #2. Lynden is #3 followed by Enumclaw at #4 while WF West caps the top 5. 2-time defending Champion Tumwater checks in at #7.
