February 15 Semi-Finals at Federal Way
Tahoma 67, Federal Way 66
Kentwood 51 Olympia 42 (OT)
Tahoma 18 32 50 67
Federal Way 22 33 44 66
(Federal Way, WA) The offenses were different with Tahoma scoring between 14-18 points each quarter whille the Eagles began and ended with 22 with a pair of 11 point quarters in the middle. Neither team were able to pull away from the other. Late in the game the Eagles took the lead with Mason Thomas hitting a pair of free throws.
Tahoma had about 16 seconds to work with and got off a couple of attempts with the last loose ball up for grabs and ended in a foul against the Bears from one official’s perspective but the closer official ruled a jump ball before the foul and possession went to Tahoma with just point-7 seconds to play, just enough for a catch and shoot.
The Bears lined up with the thinking you’re going to have to get the shot off from the outside as the middle would be clogged up. But Tahoma went opposite and crashed big man Adam Davis to the hoop from the free throw line, found a gap took the pass from Parker Plowman and laid up a little 2 foot hopper for the win.
The Bears advance to the District Championship on Saturday at Tacoma Community College at 2pm against Kentwood. For a full re-cap and scoring from the game check out the ESN Postgame and some video highlights below.
