(Tumwater, WA) The Aberdeen Bobcats came in looking to pull an upset or least put up a better game than the last time these 2 met back on December 5 when Black Hills took home a 65-46 victory in Aberdeen.

Aberdeen jumped out to a 5-0 lead but the Wolves rallied with a 15-0 run before the Bobcats fnished the scoring in the 1st quarter with a 3 to make it 15-8 after 1. Aberdeen would fall behind even further early in the 2nd before they turned things around holding sway with a 7 point deficit. Jabron Brooks triggered the run with 7 of his 9 points all in the 2nd quarter. Manny Garcia also came off the bench and hit for 6 in the 1st half.

Black Hills built their lead on the back of their scoring star Simon Nysted who began the game going 4-5 from behind the 3-point line and added a 2-pointer for 14 points in the 1st half. Talon Morrill chipped in with 8 of his 12 total to pace the Wolves.

The 2nd half would be a complete repeat for Aberdeen where they came out with an 5-2 run in the opening minutes of the 3rd to close within 3 points a 1 possession game and then again went ice cold hitting just 2 more points for the final 6 minutes while the Wolves consistency pushed their lead after 3 to 47-31 outscoring the Bobcats 16-7 in the quarter.

Aberdeen began the 4th quarter on an 8-2 run and closed the gap back to 10 but from then on the back and forth kept it at about 10 points with not a big run left in Aberdeen as Black Hills did a great job of protecting their lead to secure the 10 point win.

Leading the Wolves was Nysted with 24, Talon Morrill hit for a dozen, Jack Ellison and Quinton Morrill each had 8, James Morgan with 4, Jaxsen Beck and Jace Cedargreen each had 2.

Manny Garcia led the Bobcats with 24, Jabron Brooks finished with 9, Jhacob Quezada had 6, Grady Spring 4, Charlie Ancich 3 whilke Patrick Walsh and Isaac Garcia each had 2.

Our Thorbeckes MVP went to Talon Morrill who was the 2nd high scorer for the Wolves and handled the ball brilliantly while playing solid defense. Black Hills improved to 5-2 in league play and 9-6 overall while Aberdeen dropped to 2-5 and 3-9. The Wolves will next host Shelton next Thursday and Aberdeen hosts Raymond in non-league play on Saturday.
