The Puyallup Vikings Volleyball team is off to a blistering start in 2022, and at 15-0 overall and 8-0 in 4A SPSL play are coming off of a dominant 3-0 shutout of South Kitsap on Tuesday (25-7, 25-9, 25-8) and look to keep their momentum going against a Bellarmine Lions team on Thursday that is looking to make a postseason push in the 2nd half of the season. The Lions are 6-5 overall on the year, and are coming off of a nice win on Tuesday against Sumner 3-0.
Bellarmine comes in with some momentum after 2 straight SPSL victories, on top of that the Lions are the only team to win a set against Puyallup in SPSL play, that a 3-1 loss at home to the Vikings on Sept. 27th.
The Lions are lead by Senior OH Ramsey Slack, Junior OH Keira Leingang, Sophomore Setter Maddie Taitano and Senior Libero Ava Colello.
Bellarmine knows they have to play their best if they are to upset the top team in the state and beat the Vikings for the 1st time since 2016. Puyallup has had a big year from from Junior Dani Brown who is one of the top middle blockers in the state. Senior OH Ivy Vindivich is averaging more than 4 kills per set and has been strong as well. Junior Leilah Lemalu does a little bit of everything for the Vikings.
