Black Hills played host to Montesano in non league football at Tumwater District Stadium on Friday night. The 2 point conversion was run in by Travis Carson. The first quarter ended 8-0 with the Wolves leading.
The Bulldogs got on the board 18 seconds into the 2nd quarter, kicking off scoring blitz. Sr QB Jayden McElravy hit receiver Bode Poler down the sideline 53 yards later it 8-7 after the PAT. The Wolves answered a few drives later on a 1yard touchdown blast by Johnnie Stallings making it 14-7 after the 2 point try was no good. The Wolves offense would then make Monte pay for it and scored first when Beck struck again this time from 25 yards out to Bronson Campbell. Black Hills attempted to kick their 1st extra point but a bobbled snap ended the play and Wolves led 26-14. Montesano came right back to make it a 1 score game when back-up QB Jaxson Wilson dropped back and fired a TD throw to TE Tyler Johansen streaking across the back of the end-zone. The PAT failed but the Bulldogs were within 6 down 26-20.
Entering the 4th the Wolves defense would lock down the Bulldogs with lots of pressure. Keagan Rongen led the way finishing the night with 3 sacks and helped get the ball back in Wolves possession. The Wolves Johnnie Stallings would put the game out of reach finishing a huge scoring drive on a 10 yard coring run and this time the snap and hold were good and Parkinson got the kick off to go up 33-20.
Montesano was held scoreless in the 4th and Black Hills posted the 33-20 win to go to 1-0 while the Bulldogs drop to 0-1.
