(Battle Ground, WA) For the 2nd year in a row the Eli Sports Network will bring the State Cheer Championships to our airwaves next weekend. WIAA Media Director Casey Johnson says they had to add Friday night to accommodate the large number of cheer teams who have qualified and will compete.
A panel of 6 judges will determine the winners in each event which are divided up into Tumbling, Non-Tumbling, Stomp and Game Day. The classifications are small, medium, large, super large, coed and large coed.
Eli Sports Vice President of Communications Will Gaethle says “our crew is experienced in covering this event and we were excited to come back and cover it again. There was a large number of viewers last year, more than 3,000 so there is a large interest in this event.”
Family and fans who can’t get to the event but want to watch will need to have a subscription to the ESN/NFHS networks. It is easy to sign up just click on our home page and click right at the top where it says watch live.
