United 6, King’s Way Christian 0

(Toledo, WA) First let me get this out of the way and yes we did take pictures but the camera with literally more than 15,000 pictures taken started making an odd noise and all the pictures turned into blurred colored rainbows so we are sorry but none of the pictures were even visible. Of course I did not bother to look at them while taking them so I could have used my phone for at least a few decent pictures but I digress and can only apologize for the picturless coverage.

Now let’s get on board the Bus! Gustavo Barragan otherwise known as Gus the Bus picked up no fares in this one knocking in 4 of the 6 United goals. The breakout game for the Bus began just 5 minutes into the game with a shot from inside the box to the upper 3rd and it was quickly 1-0 and little known at the time but that is all they would need on this Thursday night.

Andreas Malunat then got into the act with the insurance goal in the 9th minute off an assist from Dawson Hall. Then in the 28th a 3rd United player got into the books Leandro Belmock with help from Malunat on a nice crossing assist and United went to the break with a solid 3-0 lead.

In the 2nd half the Bus really got rolling and began in the 50th minute with his 2nd goal and now an ominous 4-0 lead had the Knights on their heels. Frustration then boiled over for King’s Way and they committed 2 fouls inside the box and the Bus knocked them both past the keeper in the 66th and 70th minutes to close out the game. United improves to 3-4-1 overall while King’s Way drops to 3-2-1.

Our Pacific Sports Spa Players of the Game for United went to Gustavo Barragan and for the Knights Colton Dalia. Our Thorebeckes Sportsmanship Award winner went to United’s Ivan Cibrian for his defensive efforts. Cibrian and Keeper Alan Contreras had solid games leading the backline for the shutout.
