Napavine 67, Rainier 19
(Napavine, WA) Napavine’s Jordan Purvis earned our Pacific Sports Spa Player of the Game for the Tigers and it wasn’t a tough call. When a single player outscores their opponent single-handedly it’s an easy decision. Purvis finished with 22 while the Mounties scored only 21.
For Rainier, Jeffrey Ashby was our Player of the Game leading them with 7 points and playing the entire 4th quarter with 4 fouls. But the Mounties could not get anything to fall limited to just 2 points in the 1st quarter was not the start they hoped for against the Tigers.
Napavine was off to the races from the get go with 2 quick steals leading to lay-ups coupled with the smothering defense led them to a dominating 39-7 halftime lead. They held Rainier to just 4 points in the 3rd and kept them in single digits to 8 in the 4th.
Napavine had 3 players in double figures with Purvis at 22, Isaac Subitch knocked down 12 and Freshman Cade Evander off the bench hit for 11. The Tigers are now 4-1 in Central 2B league play and 4-1 overall. Rainier drops to 2-3 in league and 4-4 on the year.
