Black Hills 1, Capital 0

(Olympia, WA) The Wolves were in control of this match from start to finish but could never shake a scrappy Capital squad playing without several starters. Black Hills had many opportunities to put distance on the Cougars with on-going attacks from Yitagesu Dowty, Bekele Dowty, Hayden Lloyd and Avery Armin.

The Wolves broke through in the 21st minute off a free kick from Hunter Karseboom that bounced off the Cougar defense right to Yitagesu Dowty who pounded it home for the 1-0 lead. The 2 teams battled back and forth with Cougar keeper Carson Collard punching out a couple saves late in the half and they went to the break with Black Hills leading 1-0.

The Cougars backline was tested time and again in the 2nd half as the Wolves continued their attacks including 5 corner kicks that were all denied. Austin Beaulieu, Connor Thomson and Connor Morrison had strong games for the Cougs and denied the Wolves any insurance goals keeping them just one score away from tying the match.

Despite not knocking home an additional score the Wolves remained in control and kept the pressure on with their forwards and their own strong defensive stand including a couple of saves for keeper Matt Braun. The Wolves improve to 2-0-1 while the Cougars fall to 1-3.

Our Tommy Lowe of Greene Realty Players of the Game went to Black Hills’ Bekele Dowty and Capital’s Austin Beaulieu and our ProActive Physical Therapy Play of the Game went to Yitagesu Dowty for the game winning goal.
