Kalama 62, Rainier 47
(Rainier, WA) The 2-2 Rainier Mounties came into this game looking to knock off one of the teams in the upper tier the 4-1 Kalama Chinooks in Central 2B league play. As the game began it looked like the home team might knock off the Nooks as the took a 15-14 lead after the 1st quarter and then trailed by just 1 at the half 28-27. Dillon Stancil led the Mounties at the break with 10 points. Cameron Walker led Kalama with 8.
A big 3rd quarter would be the difference for the Nooks as they pulled away from the Mounties outscoring them 26-14 to go up 54-41. Kalama featured a balanced attack with 4 players in double figures led by Alex Dyer’s 14. Blake Stemkoskie and Walker each finished with 12 while Stancil’s 10 points would top Rainier.
The Chinooks are now 5-1 in league play while the Mounties dropped to 2-3. Our Pacific Sports Spa Players of the Game went to Kalama’s Blake Stemkoski and Rainier’s Dillon Stancil.
