(Ridgefield, WA) It was a tale of two halves if you will yesterday in Ridgefield as the Spudders hosted the Sehome Mariners. And for the second year in a row the Spudders were denied a trip to the state semi-finals.

First half was a good half for the Spudders as they tallied two goals and played some pretty solid defense in taking a 2-1 lead into the locker room.

Second half was nothing like the first. The Mariners found a lot more energy and put constant pressure on the Spudders as they found the back of the net 5 times. To his credit young freshman keeper for the Spudders, Joe Lindbo, got his hands on four of the shots only to see the ball trickle off his hands and find the back of the  net.

After the game I  chatted with some of the Spudder players and as hard is it was to lose the game they all agreed on this day the best team won.
