Centralia 5, River Ridge 0
(Centralia, WA) The Tigers were looking to put together some offense under new head coach Phil Strodemier after getting shut out in their opener 1-0 to United. It didn’t take long for the Tiger offense to find the back of the net in fact in the 1st minute Luis Madrigal broke free and knocked the ball into the back of the twine to go up 1-0.
Madrigal would strike again 7 minutes later in the 8th minute with a similar play and nailed a crossing shot to the far right of the goal for the 2nd score making it 2-0. Centralia would score again in the 12th minute when a Tiger shooter was brought down in the box resulting in a Joseph Gonzalez penalty kick and did not miss to make it 3-0. Laurence Silva would finish off the Tiger scoring in the 1st half taking an assist from Andrew Ramirez and hammered it home to the left post to make it 4-0.
In the 2nd half the Hawks held their own but the game a bit physical saw another big mistake with another penalty in the box and Binod Sapkota would knock it in easily in the 53rd minute. River Ridge would get a couple of runs following that 5th goal but Hakkon “Hulk” Haner stopped unexpectedly when it looked like he would have an opening, Quinton Taylor would pull a shot to the right and Jolo Lubag would fire away as well but the Centralia backline of Andrew Ramirez, Claudio Guzman-Flores and keeper Jesse Vasquez would be swarming to the ball all night denying the Hawks.
River Ridge would get their best chance to score in the 68th minute on a PK but Tiger Keeper Jesse Vasquez kicked-saved the free kick in spectacular fashion for the save and protected the shut-out. This also won our ProActive Physical Therapy Play of the Game.
