It’s the Regional Round of the State Basketball Tournament’s and ESN will be live at 11 games with play-by-play action. We’d love to be at more but this is as many games as we could fit in with 2 crews and 2 days. Here is our line-up and listening information:

Friday Night Games
ESN 1
5:45pm/6pm Tumwater vs Selah 2A Boys
This is not a favorable line-up for either team. Both teams are League Champions and the Vikings 20-3 while the T-Birds are 16-6. However, an upset loss by Selah to Ellensburg 57-55 dropped them out of the District #1 seed and forces this crucial match-up in the loser out elimination Regional round.
7:45/8pm North Kitsap vs Woodland 2A Boys
North Kitsap were Olympic League Champs with an overall record of 21-4 and will get the Woodland Beavers who earned the 3 seed out of District 4 after finishing 2nd in the GSHL to Mark Morris. The Beavers are 16-8 for the season and had to come in through the back-door consolation bracket to earn their spot in the top 16.

5:45pm/6pm Bellarmine Prep vs Skyview 4A Girls
The Bellarmine Prep Lions will have a full house at Battle Ground Friday night to cheer on both their girls and boys teams. Both Lions squads were Narrows League 4A Champions. The girls up first finished 12-0 in league and 17-7 overall. The Lions took on big competition in their non-league games including a Holiday tournament 3 in a row. They also lost to Kentlake in the District Semi-Finals. Skyview was GSHL 4A Champions with a 12-0 league mark and 18-4 overall. The Storm would win their 1st 2 District games to clinch a Regional birth but dropped to Issaquah in the District Championship game.
7:45pm/8pm Bellarmine Prep vs Union 4A Boys
The Lions were undefeated 12-0 in league and 20-4 overall and this was after starting 0-2 on the season. The Lions won their 1st 2 District games to clinch a Regional birth but lost to Curtis in the Semi-Final and then bounced back to defeat Kentwood for 3rd place. Union is right back in the mix after losing a tight game in the State Semi-Finals last year to eventual Champs Federal Way. The Titans finished 21-2 on the season and undefeated in GSHL 4A play. They cruised through their District to grab the Championship and #1 seed.
Saturday Games
ESN 1
9:45am/10am Timberline vs Issaquah 4A Boys
Issaquah were Kingco League Champions with an overall record of 20-3 and 15-1 in league. Their lone league loss was to Woodinville as they split the season series. Timberline finished 3rd in the Narrows 4A and after losing twice to Olympia they beat the Bears in the District Tournament to advance to Regionals. They come in with an overall record of 16-8.
3:45pm/4pm Mountlake Terrace vs Bellevue 3A Boys
Bellevue were the Kingco 3A League Champs with a 12-0 league mark and 22-2 overall. Their 2 losses were one non-league during an out of state Holiday tournament and to Garfield in the District Tournament. Mountlake Terrace from the Wesco League finished 2nd with an 8-4 league mark and 16-7 overall. The Hawks lost to Edmonds-Woodway in the District title game for the #2 seed.
5:45pm/6pm Wilson vs Bellevue 3A Girls
The Wolverines come in undefeated 12-0 in league 22-0 overall and District Champions. Bellevue’s offense will be difficult to control with 4 100+-point games, 3 90-point games and 4 in the 80’s. Their lowest points scored was 44 against Oaks Christian at a Holiday tournament in California. Wilson will try to counter after finishing 2nd in the Narrows 3A to Lincoln with a 12-2 record and 18-6 overall. The Rams won their 1st 2 district games to clinch a regional birth but finished with 2 straight losses. They too can put up points with 4 games 80+. Their lowest output was a 53-51 loss to Lincoln.
7:45pm/8pm Wilson vs Garfield 3A Boys
The Garfield Bulldogs ended up 2nd in the Metro to Rainier Beach but got their revenge in the District Tournament with a 65-63 to grab the #1 seed and District Championships. No surprise the Bulldogs can put up points with 2 100+ point games including 112 in one of those and 15 games of 80+ points so 17 games of their 22-2 overall record they put up more than 80-points. Wilson finished in an identical record as the Rams girls team 12-2 and 18-6 overall. They are also capable of putting up points with a game high of 113 in a non-league win and 8 80+ point games. Just like the girls, they won their 2 opening games in the District Tournament to advance to Regionals but finished with 2 straight losses.

1:45pm/2pm Cascade Christian vs King’s Way Christian 1A Boys
Cascade Christian will have their hands full in this Regional match-up after finishing 2nd in the Nisqually League 6-2 and 11-9 overall. The Cougars had a nice run in the District with 2 straight wins and lost the District title game to Seattle Christian 57-50. Meantime, King’s Way rolled up a 12-0 record and 18-2 overall. The Knights rolled through the District Tournament defeating Kalama 64-58 in the Championship game.
3:45pm/4pm Nooksack Valley vs La Center 1A Girls
The La Center Wildcats roared to a 21-2 overall record while tying with Kalama for the Trico Title with 11-1 records. La Center came up with 2 big wins in the District Tournament knocking off powerful Montesano and then getting Kalama 56-53 in the Title game. The Pioneers finished with an 18-9 overall record and 7-5 in the Northwest Conference. The Pioneers went on a big roll in Districts after winning their opener and then losing their 2nd game Nooksack Valley reeled off 4 straight wins to advance to Regionals.
5:45pm/6pm Mercer Island vs Prairie 3A Girls
The Islanders were clearly 2nd behind the undefeated Bellevue Wolverines with a 10-2 league mark and finished 20-5 overall. In the District Tournament they won their 1st 2 games but lost to Bishop Blanchet in the Semi-finals before bouncing back to take 3rd with a win over West Seattle. The Prairie Falcons were GSHL 3A Champs at 6-0 and 20-4 overall. The Falcons also got tripped up in the District after 2 wins losing in the Semi-Finals 56-55 to Lincoln and then came back to beat Wilson for 3rd.
