Highline 4, River Ridge 0 (game suspended after 1)

(Lacey Wa) The River Ridge Hawks had a 1/2 game lead over Highline coming into this match-up and they still have that half game advantage after the game was called with just 1 inning in the books. The rain was steady and hard but Hawks Coach Chad Arko and his players worked hard in trying to get the field playable and finally did 45 minutes late. Who knew the Pirates were mudders?

Highline sent 7 to the plate in the 1st inning and brought 2 home on a 2 out, 2 RBI double by Christian Hagler. This after 3 singles b y Finn Fossberg, Ryan Moormeier and Drew Sagmoen, Fossberg and Moormeier both scored.

Adrian Stacy retired the Hawks in 1-2-3 fashion and it was 2-0 after 1. As the top of the 2nd began Stacy led off with a single then the #9 hitter Joshua Enciso stepped up and belted a shot over the left field fence for a 2-run dinger increasing their lead to 4-0. Tyler Terlouw then singled sharply between 3rd and short and Hawks 3rd baseman Brayden Anderson slipped on the wet infield. The umpires then called the game at this point with Highline leading 4-0. When this game gets rescheduled it will pick up from this point in the game with Terlouw on base.

Athletic Director Gary Larson did not know when they might be able to finish this game.
