Black Hills 3, Centralia 1

(Tumwater, WA) Black Hills head coach Frank Soiza would not give our announcers his starting line-up 30 minutes prior to the game because due to several injuries he literally didn’t know who and what positions his players would take on the field. His concern playing short was quickly relieved when Bekele Dowty took matters into his own hands scoring a 1st half hat trick as Black Hills took a 3-1 lead into halftime.

Dowty struck first in the 4th minute with a lob shot over the top and Dowty sprinted to a 1 on 1 with Tigers Keeper Jesse Vazquez and punched it in. Bekele then made it 2-0 in the 16th with a similar break away play that Vazquez could not deny.

Centralia would cut the lead in half in stoppage time as Mauricio Mosqueda-Zuniga headed a pass into the middle of the box where Johnathen Ruff knocked it in to make it 2-1. Dowty wasted little time in answering and once again broke away but this time Vazquez blocked the shot from the top of the box but the ball rebounded back to Bekele and before Vazquez or any of the defenders could pressure Dowty and he flipped it over the top for the hat trick.

Black Hills added to their lead just 5 minutes into the 2nd half. Dowty was taken down just outside the keeper box and quick kicked it out on top to team mate Hunter Karsseboom who drilled it into the upper right from about the 20 yard line and the Wolves rolled up a 4-1 lead.

Centralia did not give up and battled back with their 2nd goal in the 61st. Christian Rangel-Velazquez found a gap in the defense and knocked it in to make it 4-2. The Tigers would then  make it interesting pulling within 1 with a stoppage time goal with Mosqueda-Zuniga’s 3rd assist on the night and Ruff’s 2nd goal but that would be as close as they would get and the Wolves held on for the 4-3 win.

Black Hills improved to 5-2 while the Tigers dropped to an even 3-3. The Tommy Lowe of Greene Realty Players of the Game went to Bekele Dowty for the Wolves and Mauricio Mosqueda-Zuniga for Centralia. Our ProActive Physical Therapy Play of the Game went to Hunter Karsseboom for his goal which ended up being the winning goal off the Dowty assist.
