South Kitsap 0, Olympia 0

(Olympia, WA) There was no give in this early season Narrows 4A League match-up as both keepers and defense were tough as nails denying each other’s offenses from tallying any goals ending in a scoreless tie. There are no overtimes in the Narrows League so if the 80-minutes is a stalemate that’s how it ends.

Both teams offenses had chances to knock in shots with the Wolves taking more but Olympia missing a couple of prime opportunities including a dead on shot from Ian Hesse who got just a bit too much elevation and hit the crossbar bouncing out. South Kitsap’s best opportunity came on a penalty kick but Bears keeper  Matteo DelGiudice came up with our ProActive Play of the Game with a spectacular save.

Both teams also struggled with a tightly called match by officials where minor bumps were being called and there were an abundant number of calls that really impacted the pace of the game. Defensive play ruled the match with big performances from Max Nail and both keepers Dylan Stevenson and Alex Hutchison for South Kitsap. For Olympia, Garrett Landers, Andrew Hoang and keeper DelGiudice were stand outs.

Both teams remained undefeated but obviously not untied with South Kitsap now 1-0-2 and Olympia 1-0-1. Our Tommy Lowe of the Greene Realty Group Players of the Game went to Garrett Landers for Olympia and Max Nail for South Kitsap.
